Geographic Presence

As of January 2026, member organizations of the Coalition have a presence in around 22 countries across Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC).

Among the 22 organizations surveyed (out of 25 members)::

  • All organizations operate at a national level, with presence in at least two countries in the LAC region. 
  • Only four organizations do not have a formal regional office or presence.

Regional Coverage

  • Colombia and Venezuela have the highest concentration of Coalition member organizations, followed by Guatemala, Mexico, Honduras, and Ecuador. 
  • Costa Rica and Belize have the lowest presence of Coalition members.

Presence and Reach

In addition to their engagement within the LAC RMD Coalition, member organizations actively participate in a wide range of regional and national coordination mechanisms across LAC.

At the regional level:

  • Regional WASH Sector (from R4V and/or REDLAC)
  • Regional Food Security Sector (from R4V and/or REDLAC)
  • Regional Protection Sector (R4V – REDLAC)
  • Regional Education Sector (from R4V and/or REDLAC)
  • Regional Health Sector (from R4V and/or REDLAC)
  • Regional Child Protection in Humanitarian Action Sub-Working Group (R4V and/or REDLAC)
  • AAP/CwC Thematic Group (Accountability to Affected Populations / Communication with Communities)

At the National Level

LAC RMD members also participate in multiple national coordination platforms, including Humanitarian Forums and NGO networks. Examples include:

  • Co-leads of Protection Clusters in Colombia, Ecuador, Honduras, El Salvador, and Venezuela
  • Co-leads of the Education Cluster in Colombia
  • Active participants in multiple clusters, including Nutrition, WASH, and Health
  • Members of Humanitarian Country Teams (HCTs) in Colombia, Haiti, and Venezuela
  • National Humanitarian Network (Peru)
  • Humanitarian Cluster of Alta Verapaz (Guatemala)
  • GTRM (Ecuador)
  • GIFMM and Cash Working Group (Colombia)

Sectors of Intervention

Coalition members provide assistance to the most vulnerable populations across Latin America and the Caribbean through interventions in approximately ten key sectors, alongside efforts in disaster risk reduction, climate-related emergencies, and large-scale displacement responses.
